Dance this mess around
Ok, I've just realised that alot of my posts this year have been whiny. Moany. Whingey. Call it what you want. I think that's mainly because lately I have been moany and whiny. So I thought I'd write a post that contained no whingeing whatsoever. Easier said than done.
I've been having fun wherever I can, hanging out with mates, going out on trips etc. I had a nice birthday. I went for lunch at the garden centre with my mum and enjoyed looking at the flowers. And later that evening I went for a very cheap meal and drinks with a couple of my mates. I had a whale of a time. I really enjoyed their company.
I got a new SLR camera from my brother. Grand! I haven't quite got the hang of it yet but I'm sure I will do in time. So far the only place I've taken it to was Southport last week. I took advantage of the nice weather although it was a bit windy. I walked the length of the pier which wasn't all it was cracked up to be unfortunately (its in the middle of a retail park!) but then had a better walk along the main shopping street which was full of hanging baskets brimming with flowers. I then caught a bus to a place called Churchtown which is a lovely olde world village with black & white & thatched cottages. Most of my time there was spent at the Botanical Gardens which were gorgeous and full of colour. All in all it was a gorgeous day and by the end of it I was tired but happy.
The next night me & bro went to watch the B52s at Manchester Academy and they absolutely rocked. Fred was as camp as ever & I loved his dance moves. The girls still look good and Keith doesn't look any different from 16 years ago. We had a great time despite being a bit too old to be stood up all night. We had achy muscles afterwards.
Its summer at last and I'm enjoying the sunshine. Am trying to get out when I can to visit places & take photos. I went to Turton Tower a few weeks ago and was the only one there apart from the staff.
Tomorrow I'm off into Manchester for lunch at a posh restaurant with my best mate. Its my late birthday present. We went for a curry last week which was originally supposed to be my gift but she was so drunk she forgot so we get another meal to make up for it. I'm supposed to be going to watch the new Batman film tomorrow night with some mates. Cool. Then on Thursday I'm meeting Bro for lunch. So I'm being kept fairly busy lately.
Sometime soon (I hope) there's a book coming out that has a brief interview with me linked to an audio play I did a few years ago. I hope I'm sufficiently funny and entertaining in it. And a friend has asked me to write a brief piece for the magazine he edits. I've got three or four of my photos in the Schmap travel guides (San Francisco, Oxford and Manchester) and am currently working on writing a song for a sketch that me & a friend will be doing in a few weeks at a fan gathering.
So there we are then. I can be a positive little bunny when I want to be.
I still need a f***ing job though.
